The Type of Equipment Needed for a Cognitive Walkthrough

The type of equipment needed for a cognitive walkthrough (CW) is as follows:

#1    A system to test.  Having a system to test is obviously important for completing the CW.  This system can be at any stage in the development life cycle.

#2    An evaluator(s).  Although having one evaluator is sufficient for completing the CW, it is recommended that more than one individual is used to maximize the benefits of the CW while minimizing the hazards of using only one person (see Question #4 for more information).

#3    A task list.  Having a complete and detailed task list is important for conducting a CW.  This step is extremely important for developing a detailed and in depth analysis of the system and should be considered the most important aspect of the CW.

The rest of the material is generated within the actual CW itself.  Refer to form 1, form 2, form 3, and form 4 for the template for obtaining the information provided.
