Black Magic Puppetry is a doll that responds to gestures sent through MSN Instant Messenger. The arms and facial expressions change to convey the mood of the conversation.
At its heart are three servo motors, one for each of the arms, and one for the face. When text is received from an assigned contact on MSN, the servo motors rotate to the appropriate angle and play accompanying sounds.
Rosemary Sanchez created this for her short assignment as part a senior-level human computer interaction class at the University of Calgary.
