Bob is a repositional web camera that is capable of moving in both the X and Y axis. In addition, Bob is able to centre on objects in his field of view. Taking this ability one step further, Bob uses Bradski's face tracking algorithm (implemented by Mike Boyle) to follow a subject's face with a high degree of accuracy. This is a simple idea with many practical applications.
Bob is composed of two servo motors, a webcam attached with Velcro, and a few floor boards found around the house. The total cost is about $140 CDN.
Alan Flanders created this for his short assignment as part a senior-level human computer interaction class at the University of Calgary.
