Figure 1: The basic premise behind the cognitive walkthrough involves examining how the user's initial goal structure, background knowledge, and objects in the environment leads to the execution of action and the achievement of subgoals and goals. The information provided by evaluating the executed action based on the interface feedback is fed back into the user's goal structure and leads to the development of either a new goal or the execution of a new action to perform an unaccomplished goal. This sequence is repeated until the user completes the required task and moves onto a new task in the sequence.
