Rubin (1994) suggests that there are four major steps to this process.
1. Compiling and summarizing data.
2. Analysing data.
3. Developing recommendations.
4. Producing the final report.
Once the information has been recorded, then a protocol analysis can be performed to class some of the participant's comments. Quantitative data can be analysed using the appropriate test. Specific, interesting comments and problems encountered with the product can be noted in a report and provided to the design team, along with the protocol analysis, quantitative results and preference information.
The design team can then, using the report and the video record, rectify some of the usability problems with the product, and initiate another usability test.
