Abstract
The Community Bar is groupware supporting informal awareness and casual interaction for small social worlds: a group of people with a common purpose. This video demonstrates how it works. Its elements include a sidebar display, media items, the tooltip grande, full view. It shows how it supports multiple ad-hoc places, how people move from awareness to interaction, focus control, and presence control. A time-lapse sequence shows an hour of its real use.
