Abstract
(Humor Column) Although users are enthusiastic about modern icon-based interfaces using direct-manipulation principles, we argue that their full potential has yet to be realized. Specifically, certain aspects of video games can be fruitfully incorporated into conventional icon systems , providing "players" with an exciting way of getting their work done
