How To Determine The Local IP Address

To determine your own IP address just use the ipconfig command (Windows XP) in the shell window.
Just follow these instructions:

  1. Open a Windows shell window:
- Start -> Run...
- Type cmd in the text box and press Enter
  1. A new shell window will appear
  2. Type in the shell window: ipconfig and press Enter
  3. You will see a console output like in the following screenshot:
  • The red highlighted area shows your current IP address (where the grey strokes are, there you can see a four part number like 123.456.789.123)
  • Note: You need only to remember the IP address of the Shared Phidgets server instance. Write down this address and use it in your programs to connect to the server
