Abstract
MSN Slider gives a person a simple physical slider that lets them quickly set their on-line status on MSN Instant Messenger. Moving the slider changes the state from online, to busy, away, offline, and so on. A physical display made up of labeled LEDs reflects the person's on-line status. An on-screen display also shows the person's status. At the heart of MSN Slider is an interface kit controlling the slider data and setting the on/off state of the LEDs.
